The Beginnings & About TarSha
Bofuki's King of theGloves

My first Basenji (pictured at left) was born on New Year's Day, 1980. King was a beautiful tri who loved everyone and was my side-kick everywhere I went. He was my mascot for my softball team and sat in the dugout during games.
He and I started learning about showing together and with the help of others in the game, we learned fast. He learned even faster than I and soon was taking the breed wins over specials. Unfortunately, fate dealt us a blow after blowing the gate open during a storm, he got out and was hit by a car when was just a year and a half old. The blow to his head dislocated his jaw, broke some teeth and scrambled his head a bit. His show career was over but he sired several nice litters that built the foundation of my kennel. |
Born on Christmas Day 1980, Francis Carlisle allowed me to bring Christi home to become my doggy soulmate. After an obedience class to convince her that I was in fact in charge, she and I became a winning team in the conformation and obedience ring, although her hard-headedness meant that the C.D. title took a little longer then most people (3 yrs. from first class to finished title). On the coursing field she always ran kill dog, and took BOB almost evey time she went to the field. She became the first triple titled Basenji in Oklahoma in 1983.
